Would have been 5 stars...but

I've been to this restaurant twice, and overall I would say it is excellent. The first time, a Saturday, we tried a salad, pasta, meat course, pizza, dessert, coffees and house wine. The caesar was dripping a bit with sauce, which overwhelmed the greens. But the rest of the food was excellent. The pasta was homemade and delicious. The tenderloin beef with greens was perfectly cooked–neither dry nor soggy. The pizza was just right, as the flavors were nicely balanced and the crust was supporting but not overwhelming. The desserts were just the right size to finish off a meal (i.e., they were not enormous), and were perfectly prepared and nicely presented. The house white was delightful, and showed the care put into its selection. The espresso was delicious, and the price for all was very reasonable.

Additionally, the owner was friendly, the staff competent and the decor nice. Although I was somewhat amused by the paintings of Italian sports cars that seemed at odds with the old-fashioned Italian farmhouse look, this really did not mar the experience. The only negatives I noticed were in the menu. Some spelling errors have caused mistakes like the "green pepperoni" pizza (which I simply had to try, having never heard of green pepperoni). I was relieved to find it was actually green peppers.

I went to the restaurant again a few days later, also for lunch, and found the issues that I noticed above had been fixed. Not only that, but the owner was careful to greet us and did everything possible to make our lunch enjoyable. This will be a regular destination for us! Very few other Italian places in town come close in quality and service, and none of those can match the price. If you haven't tried it, do so!
