I semi-regularly frequent Mughal's Restaurant because I have a curry addiction and it's conveniently located. It has a good lunch deal and food that I'd call "decent," which puts it a cut above the majority of Indian joints in town. If half stars were possible, I'd probably rate Mughal's at around 3.5. I come at this from a non-meat-eating perspective, so I can't review a good (majority) portion of the menu, however. Of what I can recommend, the paneer mushroom masala and mixed veg korma are pretty good.
My issue with Mughal's is this: it claims to offer food delivery. It does not actually have food delivery. I called the number posted on this website this evening only to be told that "we don't have that."
Look. My cheap a$$ is doing its best to avoid paying Sherpa's RMB 15 delivery fee here (that probably says more about me than them, granted) for an unfamiliar, non-Mughal's Indian restaurant. I'm going out of my way to Google your restaurant and call your number based on information that you provide on that website (vegetable biryani? Check. Samosas? Check.). If you don't offer delivery, that's fine. But don't claim to offer delivery. Don't set up a whole flippin' section of your website advertising delivery when you don't have it. I'm not entirely sure why this would be rocket science, except, of course, that it clearly IS.
Does this one hiccup spell the end of my half-hearted relationship with Mughal's curry and locale? Not likely. My review of its food and annoyance over its false advertising are mutually exclusive affairs-- in other words, it would've gotten 3-3.5 stars from me regardless. That said, this incident annoys me. Mughals: do something about this (and in case it IS rocket science, solutions include: taking down the page OR starting delivery service).
