Gung Ho! Pizza: "12 Inches of HOT Satisfaction"

Equipped with their bright pink shirts, and similarly colored bikes, Gung Ho! Pizza, Beijing’s newest gourmet pizzeria, opened up its doors Thursday with a bang and promises to offer customers “12 inches of HOT satisfaction.” From cheese and pepperoni to squid and salmon, the new delivery joint offers a wide range of menu items to suit all tastes. And with their buy one get one free grand opening special until the end of July, we think you won’t be disappointed.

Gung Ho!’s pizzas are freshly hand made to order. Along with their various toppings, a choice of white and whole-wheat crusts are offered for the health conscious. We personally recommend the Spinach Pesto pizza which is topped with cherry tomatoes, goat cheese, and…tofu? Yeah, we were skeptical at first, but this pizza was hands down one of the best pizzas we’ve ever tasted. The tofu was made just right and complimented the pesto sauce perfectly. The Carnivore is also a great choice. It has a slight hint of spiciness, and as the name suggests, this thing is packed with meat: andouille sausage, Black Forest ham and hand-spiced pepperoni.

If you’re not in the mood for pizza, they are also offering fresh, in-house, hand-made pastas and salads. Prices are comparable to other pizzerias around Beijing. Pizzas range from RMB 40 to RMB 95 depending on size and toppings chosen. Pastas range between RMB 40-50, while salads are priced between RMB 30-50. Gung Ho! is primarily a delivery restaurant, but they do offer limited seating and customers are free to dine in. Delivery zone information can be found here, complete with a pledge never to get lost, “We solemnly swear that we will not get lost within the boundaries of this shaded area. If you do come across one of our delivery guys going in circles, please take him to the nearest police station. Thank you.”

Another location in the Central Business District is planned to open by the end of this year.
