High-Quality Furniture Dashed with History & Color: Casa Pagoda at Sanlitun
Imagine high-quality furniture dashed with history, color and European memorabilia. It sounds messy, yet manages to convey a sense of familiarity and style. No wonder it’s already taken off in Shanghai, Moscow and Bangkok. This new three-story space in Sanlitun marks Casa Pagoda’s first tentative step towards expanding into Beijing.
The first floor is occupied mostly by retro accessories, with binoculars, placemats and trays bearing vintage-style ads and logos. The playlist of seductive jazz tunes reminds me of another era, giving me a newfound appreciation for their aged leather couches (from RMB 1,490) and pop art.
Some of the furniture costs tens of thousands of kuai, but there are also many affordable accessories, including scented candles (RMB 79) and colorful doormats (RMB 119).
Hooray for well-priced designs that are unabashedly unique – perfect for injecting some whimsical spirit into our homes.
