Three Things for the Week Ahead in Beijing

It’s a new week, and in this new series, we’ll be showcasing three things in the realm of food, drinks, and the arts worth trying in the week ahead.

Food – Fondue at Zarah

With winter back, it's time to warm up with cheese fondue at Zarah. Their signature fondue is a mix of Swiss Gruyère and Emmentaler cheeses with a hint of kirschwasser, a type of cherry brandy. Each set comes with bread cubes, vegetables, pickles, and even a bowl of pineapple for dipping. Read more here

Fondue sets are available at Zarah every night through winter from 6pm onwards. Sets are RMB 338 for two people and RMB 169 for each additional person, or RMB 108 for children aged 6-12. Cheese can be topped up for RMB 108. Reserve your set via the contact below.

Arts – Luc Tuymans: The Past at UCCA

This exhibition, which just opened this past week, showcases the thoughtful paintings of Belgian artist Luc Tuymans. Works deal with ideas on time, be it the past, present, future, or anywhere in between, with a particular focus on his affinity for China, a country the artist has traveled to and visited many times over the years.

“Luc Tuymans: The Past” is happening at UCCA from now until Feb 16, 2025. Tickets are RMB 100/adult and RMB 60/students, the elderly, and minors over 1.2 meters and can be purchased via the UCCA WeChat mini program (search: UCCA尤伦斯当代艺术中心).
