French Open Final: Where to Watch "Sister Number One"

If her regular appearances in our Sports pages haven't already given the game away, Li Na is unquestionably the Beijinger's favorite Chinese sportsperson right now (just behind increasingly portly snooker ace Ding Junhui). She's battled hard to reach the final of the French Open at Roland Garros this Saturday, where she'll take on Italian Francesca Schiavone in the final. Li's feats have even prompted Chinese media to declare her China's new sporting "Sister Number One," displacing retired diver Guo Jingjing. So where can you watch Li's bid to become China's first ever winner of a tennis grand slam title?

TV coverage starts on CCTV-5 from 9pm Saturday night, though some bars will have it on satellite TV. If you're heading out you can catch the action at Paddy O'Shea's (English commentary not guaranteed), Frank's Place (sound not guaranteed, but the game will definitely be screened, says owner John Harkness), The Den, Pomme O'Shea's (English commentary) and Paddy's Pitstop.

Or you could just stay at home - it's barbecue weather, so if you've got the space, set up a TV, get a crate of Yanjing in and get the grill going. Anyway, to get yourself up to speed, check out the report below from Li's trouncing of Maria Sharapova in the semi-final. And good luck in the final, Li - the Beijinger's sports editor is certainly rooting for you.
