Shamefully Fun: Paradise CVS

It’s 3am. The bar is dead, and the staff want to go home. You don’t. So where next? You’d usually go to First Floor, but fear running into somebody you’d rather avoid. There’s Vics, but you’re not that drunk. Or The Den – nah, a bit early. Paradise CVS offers a shameful but fun solution.

It’s not a real bar, but they do sell everything, from Belgian beers to a huge variety of spirits, all at incomparable prices. Bonus points for plastic cups and bags of ice. They even have what I’d consider a “boutique” selection of fizzy mixers.

Yes, it’s like drinking in the liquor aisle of a supermarket. But that only makes you wonder why more supermarkets don’t offer tables and chairs in the liquor section.

Good for: Vodka and cream soda
Also try: El Nido

They certainly do sell bottles, from miniatures to half-bottles right up to full size 750ml (that's a "British" standard size, at least). They have a bit of Scotch, though not a great selection, and from what I recall they have a bit of absinthe.

Any info on whether or not they sell bottles? I'm particularly interested in some good Scotch or, ahem, absinthe. I'd call but they've got no number listed.

wow, looks like a proper american liquor store.
