Marni for H&M Features Hot Chinese Model
H&M’s latest designer collaboration is slated to drop in stores on March 8. The promotional images, on the other hand, were already released a few days ago – and from the looks of it, Marni for H&M will be our favorite collection yet.
Many huge names have teamed up with the Swedish clothing chain in the past, from Versace to David Beckham. Marni – renowned for its splashy patterns and often described as funky and offbeat – is the first to recruit an Asian face to front its campaign.
Directed by Sofia Coppola, the Moroccan-themed shoot reveals a playful collection that stays true to the Italian label’s signature aesthetic. Chinese top model (and current fashion industry favorite) Liu Wen, along with actress Imogen Poots and male model Sam Hayes, are adorned in bohemian-inspired staples and chunky accessories.
The press release reads: "Everything goes with everything, making African prints the perfect companion to Bauhaus modernity, and sporty silhouettes sitting with more feminine shapes ... Meanwhile for men, Marni offers a fresh take on menswear staples, with a subtle use of print and a softened use of color."
As with all their capsule collections, Marni for H&M will probably be sold out within hours. But if you are willing to wait in line the morning of (or night before?), note that it is only available at the Qianmen and Xidan locations.
