Chinese Design Awakens: Spring Expo Now Online

The Nuandao Awakening Spring Design Expo, part of the JUE Music + Art Festival, took place last Saturday at the Liangdian Design Center, featuring the work of over 28 eclectic designers, including clothes by Triple-Major, furniture by Lost and Found, jewelry by Hannah Ren and Nicolas Favard, purses by D-SATA, NLGX Design Store, Tang' Roulou and more. In line with Nuandao’s spirit, the curated products on offer were all thoughtfully designed to bring beauty to daily life.

The event, aimed at highlighting local established and emerging designers, was a big success. Don’t worry too much if you missed it – Nuandao has launched an accompanying pop-up shop in its online shop which stocks all the same items available at the market.

Your choices are varied, so we have identified a few of our favorites. If you are looking for some wardrobe updates but care for the environment too, Brand Nü is the perfect choice. Inspired by traditional Chinese design, the brand recycles unwanted or used fabrics to make beautiful and quirky clothes and represents the ideal mix of ethics and style. Tranquil Tuesdays provides personally-sourced tea and handmade teaware, making the age-old Chinese tea tradition a modern and interactive experience.

For the more art-minded folks, we suggest taking a look at the Neurasthenia photographs and intense illustration books. Many of the items listed above are now on sale for up to 50 percent off. Whatever your choice be, hurry – you only have four days left! (The products from the Spring Design Expo are available on Nuandao.net until March 24. If you miss the deadline, however, their e-shop features other unique goodies that are worth perusing.)
