the Beijinger held its ninth annual Reader Bar & Club Awards party on May 19, 2012 at Sanlitun Soho. Around 1,200 guests attended throughout an afternoon packed with drinks, food and fun to see Migas, Mao Mao Chong, Spark, Xiu, First Floor and many others pick up the most sought-after accolades in Beijing nightlife.

The Beijinger New Music Showcase
The Beijinger held an evening of music and drinking at 2 Kolegas where guests got to listen to some new musical talent along with some more established local acts. Taking the stage was Nasty Ray, Elephant Fresh, Not There, Pacalolo, Residence A, Ronnie's Will, The Planets, Trouble Trouble, AIS, Subs, Bad Mamasan and Stiletto.
The Beijinger 2012 Reader Restaurant Awards
The Beijinger's annual Reader Restaurant Awards took place for a ninth year at the Beijing Hilton where the reader's choices were announced. This year there were fifty categories that included old favorites such as, Best New Restaurant (Chinese and non-Chinese), Best Pizza and Restaurant of the Year as well as new categories like Best Steak and Restaurant Personality of the Year.
Brawl on the Wall 2012
White Collar Boxing China held its first Brawl on the Wall at the Renaissance Beijing Capital Hotel where four women and ten men fought it out in the ring while guests enjoyed a ring-side four-course dinner.
Genesis 2012 New Year’s Eve Countdown
Acupuncture Records celebrated the New Year at Lantern where revelers danced into 2012 to techno beats from Weng Weng, ELVIS.T and friends.
Calvin Harris at The One Club
Scottish electro-pop colossus Calvin Harris burned up The One Club on Feb 18 with a storming set of smash hits like "We Found Love." Though tickets were oversold, leading to some chaotic scenes oustide the venue, those who managed to get themselves inside made a riotous night of it.

INTRO 2012
Despite a last-minute relocation from 798 to Crab Island, the crowds were out for the annual all-day electronic music festival which featured a mix of international and local DJs including Gui Boratto, Antony Collins, Blackie, Slide and Oshi. The music kept guests dancing into the night while body paint and costumes kept the scene colorful.
