Massive Blow Out: Beijing To Be Hit By Gale-Force Winds
If the haze out your window isn't bad enough (visibility was down to 3 kilometers in some places yesterday), there are warnings on Chinese news sites that strong winds will be kicking up in the city starting from noon today. After a warm, almost spring like day yesterday, a cold front is coming to wreak a little havoc. We can expect this drop in temperature to create winds ranging from moderate to high until evening, with the possibility of a gale (winds around 70 kilometers an hour, strong enough to knock branches off trees). Some reports are suggesting people take precautions such as locking windows, staying off bicycles and away from outdoor objects, like billboards, that can blow over easily. The good news is all this wind will be cleaning away a bit of the pollution and we will hopefully see a gradual improvement in the quality of the air.
