Community Matters: Paint on Models and Squeeze into a Sauna

The Hutong's art club is getting very creative next Monday. They are introducing bikini models into their regular life-drawing classes – but not to be models. The swimsuit-clad bodies will be live canvases. The workshop, led by professional body painter Nina Griffee, aims to explain the textures and looks of clothing by actually painting different outfits on a human body. The point of this? You’ll become a pro at drawing clothes on (and maybe, just maybe, get to paint a swimsuit on Marisa Miller one day).

Here’s a quick look at what else is happening this week:

Atelier has launched a new series of adult photography workshops with an exciting darkroom opening in April. Before that, they are introducing DSLR basics and lighting classes starting tonight. Places need to be filled, so if you’re interested in photography, do drop them a line.

What has now become an annual Guinness World Record attempt to squeeze as many nationalities as possible into a Fengtai sauna will take place on Saturday. If you would like to represent your country by standing around in a towel with a bunch of foreign dudes or gals, look out for the buses in Wudaokou and Gongti on Saturday around noon. The sauna squeeze will be followed by raucous partying in Sanlitun.

And a few more events worth a glance to wrap things up today:
