Talking Pints: Yen White, Slugabed and a Migas Birthday Bash
The biggest event of the weekend, heck – one of the biggest of the year, goes ahead at 798 tonight when Yen White returns. Don your whites and head over to the UCCA for what promises to be a splendid night with DJs Mickey Zhang, Dio, Usami & Patrick Yu, Ouyang, Donald Summer, Diva and visuals by ADD+. Check out their official site here for ticketing details, but last we heard, there were still some available at RMB 150.
There are plenty of top parties around town this weekend, but we'll get to them shortly. First some housekeeping:
- Oban whiskey bar has been leveled over near Maizidian Lu.
- Saveurs De Coree have been offering some good drinks deals at the end of March. On Saturday and Sunday they'll be offering two-for-one on Vedett Blond draft between 3 and 7pm.
- Flamme Sanlitun had it's final all-you-can-drink cocktail night on Wednesday. That's one promotion that will be sadly missed.
- Great Leap have a few new drops on tap this month. The German brew Kölsch (light, crisp and flavorful), the Silver Needle White Ale (infused with Silver Needle white tea), the Danshan Wheat (infused with Danshan Gongfu black tea - smoky but light), and the Hazelnut Porter (an alternative porter to the house standard). Why not stop by and check them out this weekend if the weather holds up?
- We've heard Lantern will host Brazil's DJ Spy in May as well as UK techno legend Kirk Degiorgio (aka As One). There's also talk of Scottish trip hop producer Howie B coming to town. We'll bring you the latest when we have more.
- Migas will reopen the rooftop on April 19 and are promising a new look as well as a new cocktail menu for the relaunch.
We also received some information on this year's INTRO festival. It will be held on May 25 at the Crab Island Convention Center and will feature "three stages, 50 Chinese and foreign artists, 10,000 revellers, and 50,000 square meters of open-air plaza."

- Migas helps one of their regular spinners, Nassdak, celebrate his birthday.
- Friend of TBJ (as drummer of Stiletto, he will always be considered a friend of ours) Jon Ellis needs your help. Get along to Save Jon Ellis! tonight at 4corners.
- Haze host their kinky 50 Shades of Haze party on Saturday night.
- GT Banana celebrate April Fool's Day tomorrow (one day early, more fool them)
- For something completely different, there a freestyle MC battle at Mix. Why the devil not?
