Community Matters: Dark Room Opening and Vintage Bike Ride

Throw out your SD cards and “clouds” – Atelier is opening a dark room on Thursday night. Old school shutterbugs of all levels are welcome to bring undeveloped film to the opening to make prints, and there’s even a chance to win free entrance to the opening workshop. Fill in a survey on Atelier’s website before Thursday to get entered in the draw.

After last Sunday’s pretty thrifty clothing swap at Temple (see photos of that here), this coming Sunday, the Canadian International School of Beijing is holding an organic produce and flea market to celebrate Earth Day, which is on Monday, April 22.

And on Saturday, Serk is pedaling hipster cycling culture forward with a vintage ride. Starting at the Worker's Gymnasium West Gate and ending in 798, the ride will celebrate cycling fashions of the 70s and 80s. The rider with the best bike and snazziest outfit can win great prizes, including an ABICI bike. Style hint: the organizers have stated that British tweed is welcome in outfits.
