Greenpeace Gives Solar Energy a Boost in Shunyi
This month has been a sunny one for Greenpeace China. They have successfully installed Beijing's largest rooftop solar PV project, one that, at full capacity, can generate enough electricity to satisfy more than two urban Chinese families per day.
The five-kilowatt system, made up of 65 square meters of solar panels, is set up on the GP China warehouse in Shunyi and is connected to China's electricity grid at no cost.
This is just one step toward achieving China's goals for renewable energy – China hopes to have 2 million more solar systems like this one by 2015.
