The Rolling Stones to Play Shanghai's Mercedes-Benz Arena March 12

Not really a Beijing story, but considering how many Beijingers went south to see Metallica, we expect people will be interested to hear that The Rolling Stones will return north of the border for one show in Shanghai at the Mercedes-Benz Arena March 12, as according to the Stones' official website. Tickets go on sale Monday, January 20, at 5 pm.

The Stones last played in Shanghai in April 2006, in a show that was originally scheduled in 2003 but cancelled due to the onset of Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS). That show was notable for the appearance of Chinese rocker Cui Jian, who joined the band for its performance of "Wild Horses." No word on whether Cui, who was on and then off this year's CCTV Spring Festival gala, will reunite with his musical heroes, or any other possible opening acts.

Tickets start at RMB 480 and go up to RMB 2,880. The Stones are also set to perform at the Venetian Macau in the gambling enclave on March 9. Damai.cn is listed as the official ticketing outlet.
