Don't Miss:

DJ's (Pei, Boflex, Donkey Tonk, Shackup, Dead J, among others) and techno heads are warming up tonight at Dangdai MOMA for the Beijing Sonic Electronic Music & Art Festival onh Sept 5-14.

Then tomorrow night, Beijing’s deepest music nerds, DJs Boflex, ClubGawd, Justynn, Count of Monte Disco are spinning humor-laden tunes at Dada. They say: "Come for an eclectic assortment of wrongness you'll not hear anywhere else in Beijing. Attendance of all freaks is kindly requested."

Club Suzie Wong is turning its dance floors into a summer carnival on Saturday with live bands, magicians, carnival games, and a bikini show. They're throwing out their dress code so that you can rock in with shorts, sandals, or swimwear – just once this year.

But before all that, some of Beijing's F&B folks are providing an escape from the urban jungle at Moon River Farm for a full day of organic barbecue, beer, music and fun. Barbecue food offerings include a whole Pacific-style roast pig, roast lamb by Cu Ju and grilled fish by Sue Zhou. Jing A will also be premiering an Orchard Peach Ale brewed specially for the occasion.

The fun doesn't stop on the Saturday night. Beat the Beijing summer heat with Parlor and what is purported to be Beijing's first color watergun fight. DJs will be on hand to serve beats throughout the day alongside a barbecue and cocktails from Parlor and Mai Bar and a pool for cooling off.

To top it all off, Chef Michael Tsai of Palms is taking over the kitchen at Slow Boat Monday and preparing a two course meal paired with two half pints of Slow Boat beer. Don't forget though, the RMB 130 tickets must be purchased in advance.
