Bagels, Bunny, Bye Bye: Fat Bunny Bakery, Tavalin Bagels Closing

Baked goods in Beijing are taking a big hit just before we click over to 2015: the Beijinger April 2014 cover model Ida Collin, a.k.a. Fat Bunny Bakery, and Tavalin Bagels, are both turning off their ovens before the end of December.

Fat Bunny baked its final cake over the weekend, with Collin set to leave Beijing for Europe next month. Tavalin said his eponymous retail store, near the soon to be renovated Yashow, will close at the end of December, according to Beijing Boyce. The move is similar to that of nearby Two Guys and a Pie, which wrapped up operations in August after two years.

Still in the business are CC Sweets and The Lollipop Bakery, and Mrs. Shanen's Bagels for those things with the hole in the middle.
