Home Plate BBQ Sanlitun to Close Briefly after Small Fire
A small fire at Home Plate BBQ's Sanlitun location Thursday morning will see the popular venue closed for "a few days" as officials and the restaurant's owners carry out safety inspections, manager Brian Murray told the Beijinger.
A plastic part in the restaurant's meat smoker hood ignited, causing the fire, which drew local firefighters to extinguish the blaze. There were no injuries, and only the smoker hood and some meat were damaged, Murray said.
Home Plate will make repairs, and then the restaurant and Beijing fire officials will conduct safety inspections, expecting to take "a few days" before re-opening.
Other businesses in Courtyard Four were not affected by the fire.

[UPDATE] Taco bar appears to be open as normal, while Home Plate needs three more days until they will be back to normal, too.
