Head Over to Flamingo Plaza at Más For Cheap Vintage Clothes and Accessories, Jun 18
Most of you out there already know that Más has some succulent cocktails but did you also know that they have a wild side project called Flamingo Plaza where they sell vintage threads and weird trinkets at various flea markets across the city? Well, on June 18 they bring operations home for one afternoon to make room for new merchandise.
If you know the fellas behind this classy dive, then you know they perpetually maintain a personal aesthetic that’s part 1980s drama school teacher and part a Bugle Boy nightmare. You can be assured that they will have something for all of you connoisseurs of retro threads. They told us that that their inspiration came from a South Florida strip mall that Más co-owners Ross Harris and Ariel Tudela would frequent during college when it was the holy grail of good thrifting.
All clothes are real vintage, sourced from the US and Thailand and dating back from the 1960s to the 1990s, with a particular focus on Japanese cotton and rayon summer dresses, real Hawaiian shirts, leather purses, belts, marked-down winter clothes, blouses, skirts, vintage designer labels, and antiques. It sounds like they just pilfered a stylish but deceased spinster’s closet.
There will also be a DJ on the premises blasting some Canto and Mando-pop for your perusing pleasure, and to make it more of a party rather than just pure commerce. Expect a fun day of playing dress-up and sipping cocktails in funny clothes.
