Weekend in Nightlife: Birdy Nam Nam, Rødhåd, Cheers Wine Tasting, and More!
Regardless of whether or not you celebrate Thanksgiving, it's the perfect excuse to stuff yourself with turkey and pie (and to be thankful for the positive things and people that make up your life). Spend Thursday eating all you can: destination food coma. But come Friday, put on some stretchy pants, rally, and venture out into the cold weather for all that's going on in Beijing this weekend.

In case you didn't drink enough for Thanksgiving, for just RMB 100 you can taste five different wines with the CEO of Cheers, Claudia Masüger. Dance or Die: Birdy Nam Nam (also pictured at top)
Birdy Nam Nam, pioneers of turntablism, and winner of the 2002 DMC World DJ Championship, is returning to China after a four-year break of introspection and creativity. For anyone looking for motorized electro beats designed to cause mayhem, this is where you need to head on Friday (though you may need some shots to counteract the sleepy wine drunk if you end up at the Cheers wine tasting first). RMB 240, RMB 180 (advance). 9pm. Yugong Yishan
Saturday, November 26
Once a secret gem, this German "Techno Viking" is now one of the scene's new techno elites. The ShadowPlay collective welcomes Rødhåd to Beijing for his first performance in China, and looks to transport Beijing partiers all the way to Berlin's notorious Berghain for one night only. Price TBC. 10pm. Tango 3F
Aotu, Beixinqiao's primo arts space/hair salon/bar with rooftop, is celebrating their second anniversary with performances by The Radiance, Depth of Field, and Ms. Uptown. Free. 8pm. Aotu
It's not a club, but for anyone interested in a live performance, The Letter is one of the most traveled Danish performances in the international scene. The Letter is composed of the same story told 15 different ways: drunk, silent film, without hands, etc. but there's a catch! Each story is told without words, which has resulted in it acquiring a cult following. RMB 80-300. 7.30pm. Beijing Comedy Theatre. Also playing on Sunday, November 27.
**Dada is closed until next week, and they will update the public when they will re-open.
There you have it. This one seems like a quieter weekend, but be prepared, December is likely to be a crazy month! Happy Thanksgiving, everybody!
