Blue Frog’s Winter Menu: Hot Drinks, and Special Christmas Menu Bring Seasonal Feels

After revamping their seasonal menu with six dishes including chargrilled veal tenderloin and grilled mixed sausages, Blue Frog is no longer only about burgers. And to make things even more interesting, they've added a Christmas menu to help you get in the holiday spirit. They invited us over to their Sanlitun venue to try it out.

Inspired by Southeast Asian cuisine, Blue Frog's Thai-style shrimp salad (RMB 88) comes with juicy chargrilled shrimp, tossed with semi-dried tomatoes, chopped peanuts, coconut chips, mint, mixed vegetables, and cilantro, and is a good option for a single portion or to share. The salad is seasoned with spicy Thai dressing and coconut milk, and topped with fried leeks. Other new dishes include wagyu beef sliders with cheddar cheese, avocado, pan-fried onions, and smoky chipotle mayo, as well as a pan-fried Icelandic red fish, and pepper braised beef cheek.

Jumping on the health trend taking over Beijing's eateries, we also enjoyed the grilled vegetable platter, composed of olive oil grilled vegetables, seasoned with black pepper, and served with special sesame sauce and vinaigrette.

For those seeking to keep warm, mulled wine (RMB 35) is available all day long until March next year. Also available is the Bombardino, which is a popular hot cocktail in Italy, made with special egg liqueur, milk foam, and chocolate powder, and decorated with soft marshmallows.

A special Christmas menu including creamy potato and leek soup, Christmas Turkey, and chestnut cheesecake is available for RMB 248 per person, with a choice of Chardonnay or Shiraz from Brown Brothers, coffee, or soft drinks. The menu is available on both December 24 and 25, from 4pm to late.
