7 Cool China-Based Innovative Crowdfund Projects Currently Looking for Funding
2017 looks to bring a significant amount of attention to China's economic initiatives, and hopefully lots of funding for new projects courtesy of the One Belt, One Road initiative. That being said, there are already plenty of exciting China-based tech projects coming down the pipeline and nearing completion, all they need are a little bit of monetary support from you, the people.
Bionic Fish Drone (picture above)
Step away from everything you know about air-based drones and start thinking about taking drone tech underwater. That’s exactly what the makers of BIKI, the first bionic robot fish, have done. Developed by Dr. Xiong Minglei of Peking Univiersty, the BIKI campaign has already raised seven times more than the original set goal of USD 20,000. There are still early bird deals available for those to receive this tech ASAP in order to start exploring the unknown depths (or just your local swimming pool).
Augmented Reality Lens
We’re counting down the days till we can all sit at home, living our lives via augmented reality and Hololens-type tech on every face, connecting us all. Maybe those days are not as close as we'd imagine, but this affordable mixed reality tech is chipping away at the future and make for a more cost-efficient means to AR compared to their big-business competitors. Admittedly, this RT build is aesthetically rudimentary compared to the more popular renditions.
Teeny, Tiny Jelly Phone
We’re not going to make any spy jokes while on this side of the border, but maybe preventing travel theft is a better application anyway. Jelly is the smallest 4G smartphone in the world and built to replace your normal phone when convenient. It will come in a souped-up 2GB RAM and 16GB ROM edition, and can't help but remind us quite a bit of Joaquin Phoenix's Scarlet Johansson-bound device in Her.
Cellphone Camera Microscope
At an inexpensive CAD 78, iMicroscope puts a tiny microscope into your pocket (presumably to help when you lose your tiny phone), perfect for the scientist or curiosity-minded person in all of us. The maker of this tech is also developing apps to make digital microscopes more user-friendly than simply acting as a glorified magnifying glass.
Entrepreneurial Game
Before you swamp through an entrepreneurial project-based learning experience, entertain yourself with a quick game of innovation. These entrepreneurial cards help get the creative juices flowing while at the same time demonstrate what it is like to be at the core of a innovative project.
Flexible Art Lamp
Stepping away from hardcore tech and into lifestyle design, this "Art Lamp" allows you to reshape the LED light wire, helping to release stress and exercise your creativity (when really you should be working hard, you lazy bum!).
Never Sleep-Through Alarm
Paired with a remote vibrating disc that fits snugly next to the person the alarm is meant to wake up, this bed-shaker alarm is designed to localize the time you rise and shine. It also comes witha bunch of cool built-in features like a light, speakers, USB chargers.
These projects are still ongoing or have been fully funded and are waiting release. Check out Kickstarter for other innovative projects in China that have been funded throughout the years.
