Moongazing: Where to Watch the Full Moon This Mid-Autumn Festival
You might associate Mid-Autumn Festival with mooncakes, but in reality, it's a holiday about the actual moon! And there's a good reason for that – it's prime time for full moon viewing. Below, we've collected a few fine spots around town to catch a decent glimpse of the big cheese in the sky.
Langyuan Station
Just down the street from Jiangfu Park, Langyuan Station occupies an area of green space just far enough away from the city lights to make it a good spot for moon viewing while also offering a few high spots that may not be available further out.

Looking for the most cosmopolitan spot to watch the moon within the heart of the CBD area? Head Straight for the 6th floor of China World Mall North Zone. The large patio area there is one of the best urban spots to enjoy a view of heavenly bodiies. It’s no wonder so many Beijingers choose this spot to snap an instagrammable selfie under the moon – a romantic spot to revel in the cool autumn breeze with a sip of red wine.

Xishan National Forest Park
If you're willing to make a bit more of a trek, the glorious mountain views at one of the most accessible peaks in Haidian district makes for a perfect moon watching spot – with a birds-eye view to get an overlook of the entire Beijing – at the Guixiao Stone at Beijing Xishan National Forest Park. Located just about 26 kilometers from central Beijing, this spot provides one of the best night-sky sceneries in Beijing.
