Burp Burger & Beer, Beijing's Latest Burger Joint

Who would’ve thought that after meticulous cataloging of Beijing’s 120 burger eateries, a new place would be joining the ranks right before National Holiday?

Enter Burp Burger & Beer. The new digs, which you can spot by a nondescript staircase on Fangjia Hutong – not too far away from BBB Bar – is set to open on Oct 1. Besides burgers and beers from Slow Boat, they’ll also be offering up kebabs as well.

They've opened just too late to qualify for the 2021 Burger Cup, but for hutong foodies, they could be worth trying all the same.

What’s the burger you’ll want to try here? Owner Hao Wen recommends the Crab Roe Burger, a concoction that sees a regular bacon cheeseburger with a helping of crab roe added on for a sweet twist to the classic.

Others to try are a Sweet Osmanthus Burger and their own take on a burger topped with fries, which Burp has dubbed the Tsinglong Chips Burger.

Could this be the next big thing in the capital's burger-slinging community? And does this chips burger have what it takes to stand up to Slow Boat's Fryburger? Head over and taste for yourself when Burp opens this Friday.
