Celebrate Beijing’s Reopening with These Events

It’s official the capital is finally back open, and Beijing’s many various venues, restaurants and bars have wasted no time, with many already announcing numerous fun events to keep us all entertained this first week back to normalcy. Without further ado, let’s check out just what this big bad reopening party of sorts has to offer. 

Aurora

To celebrate things finally being open, Aurora is not only having one, but two opening parties this weekend. On Jun 10 and 11 they will have both their Techno Floor and Hip Hop Floor ready to welcome you back with a number of Beijing’s most talented DJs. And guess what, both events are completely free! nugget

nugget are straight back in the game with their usual weekly events as well as a plethora of special events throughout the weekend. Jun 10 you can catch one of their tiny stage concerts with The Slow Blade x gilded forest performing, tickets are RMB 80. Tokyo Lounge

Another venue that is straight back in there with their weekly happenings is Tokyo Lounge. They’re kicking things off with an open mic night tonight (Jun 7), a performance by the Luo Ling Trio on Jun 8, and the Top 2 Duo Jun 9. Then, to kick off the weekend on Jun 10 there will be a performance by Great Buffalo Blues. Spittoon

If you’re looking for a non-music related event, then why not head on over to Camera Stylo on Jun 9 for the Spittoon Fiction night? Doubling as a final goodbye to Spittoon Book Club founder and active Spittoon participant Deva, this is sure to be a special evening with plenty of great fiction from Beijing’s literary creatives. 


The Bricks

If you really missed live jazz music while most of Beijing was closed, then The Bricks has you covered with a weekend full of it. Starting with The Barrelhouse Blues Band on Jun 10, followed by Anni Wang Jun 11 and concluding with Lilith Liu and Duan Azhu Jun 12, that’s one jazz packed weekend. CHEERS

For an event more centered around visual arts, why not join CHEERS for one of their Sip and Paint events. On Jun 12 you can embrace your inner artist and try your hand at painting, under the careful tutelage of Nadia while indulging in some free flow wine. DDC

It’s not been long since DDC opened up their new venue and they are making full use of it now that things are back in business. Starting from Jun 7 with DDC Massive Jam, they have a fully packed week with live music and DJs performing every night until Jun 12. You can see the full list of acts in the poster below. BBB Bar

Staying active over the semi-lockdown with regular live streams, BBB Bar is ready to welcome Beijing’s music fans back in person with two big DJ nights: Bona Fide on Jun 10 and Phat on Jun 11. Featuring some of Beijing’s best and most well-known DJs such as British born Special K, it’s sure to be one great weekend of music.
