How You Can Help This Beijing Orphanage

Please read this article to learn ways you can help out and make sure to share it in order to spread awareness!

Angel Baseball Base is a school in Beijing that teaches baseball to orphans and children in need of homes. By learning this sport they will have greater opportunities for their future, as they train very hard. The organization offers hotels and sells foods, for example: vegetables they planted. This is how they can obtain money for school. Sadly, they do not have enough support in some areas, so this is why spreading awareness is crucial.

How many children and staff are there at the school?
Right now there are 88 children there and the staff there is roughly about 12.

What support does the school need more of?
Money is always tight, even now with the new partnership. We still gotta buy food for the kids and we gotta pay for electricity and water to run a place like that and make repairs to some of the buildings that might be falling down. Money is definitely always needed, and before, you know, I would say books and school supplies and stuff, but with the partnership with the school that’s not really a necessity. jingkids was absolutely amazing over Christmas. They donated thousands of books, so we’re good with books now.

We’re good with the school supplies, and when people visit they often bring bags of rice or big boxes of fruit which is very helpful. It definitely helps lower some of the food costs, so any donations of non-perishable food would be greatly appreciated.

Anybody who wants to go help paint some walls, or do some farming or groundskeeping – we can always use manpower as well.

Does the school have enough staff?
Well, if you would have asked me this last year I would say it’s not enough, but ever since we formed a partnership with my previous school there’s been plenty of resources as far as teaching resources. We gave 42 scholarships to children.

How are the lives of the children there?
It is a lot better than where they are coming from. Every child has their own unique story, and 99 percent of the time it is sad. So their life now is a far cry from what they were born into.

They are happy, healthy, well fed and they study. I always see smiling faces and they are treated very well.
