Busy Holiday: A Few Things to Do Today in Beijing, Oct 3
The Golden Week has arrived, and to keep you busy from Oct 1 to Oct 7, we’ve compiled daily lists of some of the most interesting events to be found around the capital for the holiday.
Visit the Ming City Wall Relics Park
If you’re looking for something a little more history oriented but good for a morning or afternoon stroll, then one place to go is the Ming City Wall Relics Park. Built during the 1400s, after Beijing had been established as China’s new capital under the Ming Dynasty, the section of wall within the park is all that’s left of the massive defensive structure. Be on the lookout for sights like the Fox Tower and the massive archway where trains used to pass through.
