It’s the National Holiday, folks! While we know a great many of you have most likely joined the masses to leave Beijing for travel, for those who have remained, there are still some great things to do every day of this Golden Week holiday.
Go for a Stroll, Jog, or Bike Ride Along the Liangma River
Although stunning by night, the Liangma River is just as fine during the day. Along with ample opportunities to go at your own pace along the river, there are many spots where you can just sit nearby and enjoy the waterway. Partake in Mussels Galore at Bistro 108

Sing Your Heart Out at The Local’s Karaoke Night
While KTV is a common sight in China, The Local does their karaoke American-style: participants sing out in the open to an audience of friends and total strangers – i.e. the whole restaurant. While belting out their favorite tunes, guests can also enjoy buy one get one free on all appetizers with one drink purchase.
The Local will also be hosting their weekend brunch on Oct 5 and 6, as well as UFC 307 in the morning and the National Rugby League Grand Final on the afternoon of Oct 6.

2024 Beijing International Canal Arts Festival
If you’re still looking to stay out for the evening, then look no further than the Canal Arts Fest. This exciting event marks the tenth anniversary of China's Grand Canal being awarded UNESCO World Heritage status, and it's all about honoring the cultural, artistic, and historic magic of canals around the world.
From Oct 2 to Oct 4, FunsTown will transform into a global hotspot for creativity, where artists from every corner of the globe will showcase their talent. Expect a whirlwind of art, culture, amazing performances and plenty of food as we dive into the rich history of the Grand Canal – an ancient link that has connected regions, cultures, and people for centuries.
