Hot & Spicy Fest 2024 is only one day away, kicking off tomorrow (Jun 29). It promises to be one of the spiciest weekends of the year and whether you’re a spicy food hothead or prefer to keep things on the milder side, it’s one weekend you don’t want to miss! Ahead of the fest here are all your FAQs answered plus how to get to the venue. 

What food and drink will be at Hot & Spicy Fest?
We’ve got 40+ vendors serving up a whole range of spicy dishes, snacks and drinks from across the globe. You can check out more details on the vendors in these two posts:

Will there be spicy dishes that are only available at the fest?
Yes! Numerous vendors have created special, exclusive spicy dishes for the Hot & Spicy Fest, you can find more info in the links to our vendors posts in the question above. 

Will there be vegetarian and vegan options at the fest?
Yes, many vendors will be selling vegetarian and vegan options such as CODED, Las Musas, Big Naughty Dogg, TRIBE GARDEN, Puff & Chill, Wawabeer Taproom, Great Leap and PandaBrew•River Melody Mountain Scenery to name a few. 

How do I buy tickets?
You can buy early bird tickets by scanning the QR code below, standard early bird tickets are RMB 25 and VIP tickets are RMB 130.

Can I buy tickets at the door?
Yes you can buy tickets at the door, they’re RMB 35.

How do I find my ticket after I’ve bought it and how do I get into the festival?
If you’ve already bought a ticket it’s best to prepare the QR code for the e-ticket in advance by following the instructions in the poster below. When you arrive at the venue, go to the “early bird ticket” entrance, show your QR code and you’ll be given a bracelet to enter the festival.

What time does the festival start and finish? 
Hot & Spicy Fest starts at 11am and finishes at 9pm each day (Jun 29-30).

How does the Hot & Spicy Fest Passport work?
Get your TABASCO® Hot & Spicy Passport at the entrance and visit vendors to collect “Spicy Stamps”. To earn stamps purchase a spicy dish at any vendor and put TABASCO® sauce on your food to earn one
"Spicy Stamp." (Don’t forget to ask the vendor for the stamp.) For every 12 stamps you collect you get an opportunity to spin the TABASCO® Gumball Machine.

Will there be any interactive games or competitions at the festival?
Yes! We will have our annual Chili Pepper Eating Contest at 5pm both days. It’s not too late to join, so if you’re interested just send a message to WeChat ID: TBJButler and ask to sign up!

There will also be the No Hands Pants Dance challenge happening both days at 3pm.

Numerous vendors will also have a range of activities too, so keep an eye out for those!

Is there a schedule of activities?

Which day is most recommended to go to the fest?
Saturday will be the busiest day, so if you’re looking for a less busy vibe with fewer queues we recommend attending on Sunday. 

Can I bring children to the fest?
Yes, children are welcome! Also, don’t forget that children 1.4m and under get into the fest for free each day before 2pm and children under 1.2m get in for free all day!

Can I bring pets to the fest?
No, unfortunately, this venue isn’t pet-friendly so you’ll need to leave your furry friends at home.

Will there be shade and places to cool down at the fest?
Yes! We’ve created an entire Cool-Lax Zone which has a misting tent, fans, foam cannons and more ways to help cool you down. There will also be plenty of umbrellas spread about the venue so that you can get some shade. You can read more about all the cooling measures here

What should I bring to the fest?
We recommend bringing picnic blankets and folding chairs to the fest if you want to make sure you’ve got a place to sit down. It’s also predicted to be pretty hot so it would be a good idea to bring a handheld fan or an umbrella to help you cool down too. 

Where are the toilets located at the festival?
There is a toilet right outside the venue next to Starbucks and more toilets are located just to the northeast and southeast of the fest, simply head over to the northeast exit and follow the signs for the toilet.

Is there a dress code for the fest?
Yes, the theme of Hot & Spicy Fest is Summer of Spice and we encourage you to dress up in your best beachware! Not only will this help keep you cool, but it will also mean your are fully prepared to enjoy the Cool-Lax Zone. You can check out this article for some inspiration on what to wear.

Is there an after party for the fest?
Yes, there is a Hot & Spicy Fest after party both days of the fest which is free entry for those who have a Hot & Spicy Fest wristband! The after party will take place from 9pm at Mars Skyline, which is only a ten minute walk away from the festival venue. Co-organized by SNSTLTN Fire and C Baila, you can read more about it here.

Are there any extra discounts at nearby stores?
Yes, the nearby Starbucks, BlueGlass, Misu Cake & Bread and Subway are offering discounts to Hot & Spicy Fest attendees. At all these venues just show your Hot & Spice Fest wristband and get:

    You can get tickets to the"Echoes of Camel Bells: Arts, Civilizations Along the Silk Roads" exhibition at the discounted price of RMB 118 (normally RMB 168). Just scan the QR code in the poster below and then select the Hot & Spicy Fest discounted ticket option (the one that's RMB 118). You'll then need to show your e-ticket and Hot & Spicy Fest wristband to enter the exhibition. This is a great option if you want to take a little break from the heat and cool off because want to cool off they've got some great AC in the museum!

How do I get to the festival?
Hot & Spicy Fest is happening at C7 Light Theater Outdoor Square, in Universal Creative Park (UCP) located just north of 798 Arts District.

Here are a few different ways to get there:

Ride-Hailing App
If you’re using a ride hailing app, simply type in “Hengtong International Innovation Park Building No . C7”. Or if you’re using it in Chinese type in “光合聚场”. 

Taxi
If you’re taking a taxi, just show your driver this address: 朝阳区酒仙桥北路9号UCP恒通国际创新园 C7光合聚场室外广场.

Subway
If you’re taking the subway, take Line 14 to Wangjing Nan Zhan (Wangjing South). The venue is about a 1.5km walk or cycle from the subway station, you'll need to go out of Exit B1, turn left and then left again at the crossroads and follow Jingmi Lu northeast. Turn right when you get to Jiuxianqiao Beilu then follow the road until you get to Zhonyi Lu, turn north onto the road and follow the signs for the fest.
