New Tacos, Burgers, Drinks and Other Autumn Specials

It’s officially getting into cozy season here in Beijing, and along with leaves across the capital changing their hues, many restaurants and bars are also changing things up with new autumn dishes and drinks. Burger fans will be excited to hear that there are a number of new burgers in town along with some new tacos and a whole lot of autumnal drinks too, including the seasonal favorite: mulled wine.  

Las Musas

To welcome in autumn, Las Musas has a few new dishes and some great sounding cocktails up for grabs. On the food front, they’re embracing fusion flavors with two Mexican Korean fusion dishes on the menu. The first is the Cali Food Truck Burrito (RMB 75), which combines bulgogi pork, kimchi rice, guacamole, cheese, spicy Korean crema, cilantro, chives, and pickled carrots. The second is Bulgogi Tacos (RMB 60), which see bulgogi pork, sriracha crema, purple cabbage, white onion, cilantro and radish on your choice of fresh corn or flour tortillas. Along with these two dishes, they’ve also got the new Mango Salsa with Corn Chips (RMB 35), which features a spicy mango salsa made with fresh mango, avocado, cucumber, red onion, fresh chili, lime and cilantro.

Aside from food, Las Musas has got a plethora of new cocktails on the menu as well, one of which we’re particularly intrigued about: the Sichuan Mezcal (RMB 65), another fusion creation, which takes Sichuan peppercorn-infused Mezcal and combines it with Cointreau, agave syrup and orange peel. Other new cocktails include a Mexican Mule (RMB 55), Elder Flower Paloma (RMB 55), Hibiscus Paloma (RMB 55) and Tequila Sour (RMB 55). You can read more about the new offering here.

Great Leap

Although the summer barbecue season may be behind us, Great Leap is bringing barbecue into fall with a couple of new dishes. For a little bit of everything they’ve got the Roasted Platter (RMB 198), which is made up of beef brisket, BBQ sauce, baby potatoes, German sausage, pulled pork, pickled cucumber, pickled onion, roasted corn and mini burger buns. They’ve also got the new Roasted Beef Brisket Burger (RMB 108), which sees tender and juicy roasted beef brisket topped with cheese and piled inside one of their soft burger buns.

Along with new autumn dishes, they’ve decided to make a few of their most popular summer dishes, such as the Reuben Sandwich (RMB 108) and Fried Salt and Pepper Prawns (RMB 68), permanent items on the menu. Soldout

To combat the colder autumn weather, Soldout is heating things up in the burger department with two new limited edition spicy burgers: the Zhangshugang Pepper Cheeseburger (RMB 40) and the Si-Chuan Flavor Chicken Breast Burger (RMB 21). The former sees a 100 percent grain-fed beef patty topped with white cheddar cheese, zhangshugang pepper, red cabbage, lettuce, pickles and paprika mayo. The latter features a Sichuan spiced chicken breast layered with cheddar, tomato, lettuce and paprika mayo.

Shake Shack

Another spot deciding to spice things up for autumn is Shake Shack with their new Gochujang Chicken Burger (RMB 50) and Korean Style Chicken (RMB 37). The burger combines a fried chicken breast with Shake Shack’s homemade Korean sauce then places it atop a bed of kimchi salad all inside a soft burger buns. The Korean Style Chicken sees chunks of crispy fried chicken slathered in Korean sauce and finished with a sprinkling of spring onions and sesame seeds.

Zarah

Zarah will officially launch their autumn drinks menu this Friday (Oct 18), and good news for mulled wine lovers: It includes their famous, secret-recipe Gluehwine! Other alcoholic options include an Osmanthus Sour, the Golden Autumn, and River Red. For non-drinkers, they’ve got a Pumpkin Spice Latte, the Apple Harvest, and “Pipa”-Rooibos Tea. Long Fong

Hot off their recent 2024 North DRiNK Awards wins – they bagged Best Bar, Best Cocktail Menu and Best Bar Team this year – Long Fong is bringing back six of their beloved signature cocktails for autumn. They’ve got three priced at RMB 118, which are the Morning Dew (gin, William pear brandy, tuberose, mint, cucumber, absinthe, lime and lemon), the Lichen (1800 Silver Tequila, Slowboat Monkey Fist IPA, white peach, sage and shiso), and the Grassland (Tanqueray No.10 Gin, G'Vine Floraison Gin, Distillerie De Paris Tonik Gin, coriander, cumin and guava). 

They then have three other cocktails priced at RMB 128: the Soul of Plum Cheese Cake (Michter's Bourbon Whiskey, Michter's Straight Rye Whiskey, ERFO Prosseco, milk stewed plum, condensed milk, mascarpone and jasmine), the Green Hills in the Dawn (Koch Mezcal, White Sheep Gin, ginger, yuzu, matcha), and finally the Diesel Martini (Hampden 4Y LROK Rum, Rum Fire, Planteray 3 Star Rum, Luxardo Amaro Abano, black walnut bitters, Fushan Coffee and blackened kaffir lime). You can read more about them here.
