Black History Month concludes on Feb 28 with a spoken word event at UMU Club. During the event, each speaker will take to the stage to perform poetry created to highlight the importance of Black History Month. The goal is to entertain and, hopefully, enlighten.

Spoken word is poetry that is original, memorized, and performed. No stage experience necessary.

Summer is coming to an end, but let’s keep the outdoor vibes going with our cousin Larry the Bird. Tired of waiting for your favorite bartender to make your favorite drink? Well no need with us at ROC. We’ll be having an all-day happy hour with your favorite pre-made cocktails: Mojitos, Margaritas, and the infamous Long Island Ice Tea. No more need for that anticipatory drink order. Just order at the bar and enjoy your ROCtails either draft style or straight from the bottle.

On top of that, music will be provided at Larry the Bird by DJ 4Teal, who will be spinning the best of golden era hip-hop and funk music throughout the day. Think Grandmaster Flash, Mos Def, Charizma & Peanut Butter Wolf. The kind of stuff you wish you could remember while you’re searching your Spotify. We got it all!

On top of delicious chicken, ROC-in (get it?) cocktails, Larry the Bird has something even more special for you – arcade basketball. Come and test out your skills and see if you got what it takes to be the Larry Bird of Beijing. Maybe try it before (or after) a few cocktails, because the highest score will win some free burgers and drinks!

We at ROC and our cousins Larry the Bird are happy to keep the party going all through the winter season. Remember, drinks warm you up. Whiskey blanket. No excuses. See you all soon!

Wangjing Walk (望京小街)
Early bird: RMB 30; Door: RMB 40

“BAL, open the lunch bay doors. I’m going to eat something other than a burger.”

“I’m afraid I can’t do that, Dave.”

Here’s a question for you: Why should billionaires get to have all the fun in space? We at the Beijinger think it’s time to show the super-rich up by not only going to space but eating burgers in space! Or, at least at the only space-themed burger festival in the whole world this year (probably)!

Scan the QR Code in the poster to nab your tix!

Yes, that’s right – the 2021 Beijing Burger Fest is on its way, Aug 6-8 from 11am-8pm at Wangjing Walk. That’s three days of Beijing’s biggest, juiciest, most mouthwatering beef-on-bun belly busters – not to mention live entertainment, games, drinks, and all-round awesome times. You will not want to miss out! It will be one small bite for a burger fan, one giant chomp for burger kind.

The fest will also mark the start of the Beijinger’s 2021 Burger Cup to decide who will be elected best burger of the year! There’s no better way to decide who you’re voting for than to come out to the fest and give each patty a try!

Wondering how to dress for the fest? Well, it will be August, so something to stay cool couldn’t hurt, but plenty of burger fans will be showing off their best alien and/or Astro/Cosmo/Taikonaut looks. If a full space suit sounds too sweaty, feel free to take some inspiration from Princess Leia space bikinis and the space tank tops of Flash Gordon.

Additionally, The Beijinger is seeking sponsors for this year’s fest! If you want your brand to be recognized and beloved by thousands of Beijing burger fans and party lovers, then please email sales@truerun.com for inquiries.

Scan for tickets!

Now let’s get ready to munch! Missed last year's fest at Wangjing Walk? Here are a few pics of the party:
