Fenghuang Mountain and Dragon Spring Temple 凤凰岭风景区

Each of Fenghuang's three hiking routes is reasonably challenging. The 1,000-year-old temple's unpretentious aura is endearing, as are the local legends inscribed on signs by the gate and the ritual connected with the venerable local Maidenhair trees which, according to precedent, people feel compelled to hug.
Bus: Take bus 346 from the Summer Palace directly to Fenghuangling.
Car: Take Badaling Expressway from Madian Qiao on Third Ring Road to Beiqinglu Exit by the tollbooths. Exit and head west on Beiqing Lu until the end. Make a right and follow signs, eventually turning left to Fenghuang Mountain. Approx distance: 33km
