Japanese restaurant Kokorowa sits in the quiet alley of Sanlian Bookstore near Dongsi subway station (exit E). For RMB 1,280 you can get 15 courses, including a hefty amount of top-notch sushi (without drinks), executed by their two chefs: one Chinese, one Japanese. There’s no set menu, just sit around the 10-seat wooden bar and watch the chef’s work their magic in front of you. The restaurant only caters for up to 10 customers a day, so advance bookings are a must.
