Like other restaurants in the South Beauty chain, this Financial Street restaurant sells itself on decor, sporting a futuristic “NASA-chic” designed by 32-year-old Danish wunderkind, Johannes TorpeLunch. Fluid white arches with neon colored lights protrude from the entire restaurant to the upper reaches of the shopping center, and the interior comes equipped with 14 uniquely designed igloo-like private dining rooms. These circular booths have either neon felt or black fur walls that encompass glowing, fiber-optic-like chandeliers and orchid displays. The retro-looking open restaurant faces a platinum stage and offers more breathing room and less travel time for the wait staff to bring drinks from the bar. The extensive menu serves a melange of Pan-Asian dishes - ranging from Cantonese dim sum and Sichuan specialties - e.g. sautéed Australian scallops in spicy, sweet and sour sauce, braised sweet ribs, shuizhuyu - to Japanese sashimi. Set meals range from RMB 150-200, and set menus for larger parties start at RMB 1,000 a table.
