Housed in an imitation water cube, the upscale Suraon trades smoke for sophistication. The dining sections are curtained off with sheets of stained glass Klimt, and the overall presentation consists of vivid, feminine colors: napkins ringed with fuschia daisies complement raw veggie plates of paper-thin pink radishes and pale orange pumpkin. The menu, likewise, strives for more romantic authenticity than your typical Beijing-style Korean joint, and features such delights as mini daikon radish wrapped kimchi packets (RMB 68) served on long, elegant dishes, and lip-smacking savory barbecue beef filets (RMB 118) brought to the table pre-grilled and perfectly juicy (you'll find no sizzling DIY grills here). Be prepared to pay for the atmosphere and service as much as the modestly portioned food itself.
