A bright and cheery oasis in the middle of a dreary work unit residential block, Upper Room is a slightly odd but welcoming distillation of someone else’s grandmother’s cottage. With walls covered in white and light blue tiles, bible quotes posted on the walls and stuffed animal beanie babies lining the stairwell up to the second floor dining area, this eatery offers Hong Kong style classics such as ‘Steamed Treasure’ in the form of ‘double skin’ milk, mango puddings and the mysterious "Momo Jaja." Lunch set menus range from RMB 30-50 and they only accept credit card payments for bills of RMB 100 or up.
