Michelin Releases 2022 Beijing Guide
The third edition of the Michelin Guide Beijing, the 2022 edition, was released this afternoon with an online ceremony, with a total of 34 Beijing restaurants awarded stars, up by four from last year. The last couple of editions of the guide were released in November, but this year's launch had been pushed back due to Covid outbreaks.

Among the big news this year: Opera BOMBANA finally received one star, joining other Italian restaurants Mio at Four Seasons Beijing and Il Ristorante - Niko Romito at Bulgari. Sadly, TRB Hutong once again received no stars, a continued snub for what is surely Beijing's best-known fine dining restaurant (especially with a talented young chef at the helm in the form of newcomer Luke Armstrong).
Also of note, Chef Jason Liu from Ling Long took home the Young Chef Award for his modern take on Chinese cooking and creative use of local ingredients, while vegetarian restaurant King's Joy maintained its Michelin Green Star for the second year in a row, an award that aims to highlight restaurants at the forefront of sustainability.
