Talking Tunes: Bob Log III, LMT Connection, Wye Oak and Sara Lov
I'm all set for a busy Saturday. First I have to go here – stupid work stuff – but afterwards I'll have to hightail across town to get to 2 Kolegas in time for the Wye Oak show. It's one not to be missed, I reckon. Even if I have only known of the band since I heard one of their tracks on The Walking Dead.
No need to wait till Saturday, though. Great music abounds over the next few days. LMT Connection sounded like a helluva show last week. Try to get along to Xian in Lido tonight as their China tour continues. Elsewhere, Bob Log III hits up Temple with his slide guitar. And over at XP, Knowledge and Arm Trick will be splicing it up.
There's also Dreamer Festival 2013 across Saturday and Sunday this weekend over at Chaoyang Stadium. There are a few big names on the bill including Sara Lov who also performs at Yugong Yishan on Friday.
We received notice this week of this year's Fete de la Musique, or Beijing Music Day. It goes ahead on Friday June 21 across Sanlitun, Liangmaqiao and 798 through the day, before spreading to all your favorite live venues as night falls. We'll have more on the lineup closer to the big day.
Some other upcoming highlights:
- Colt Silvers, 1984 and Nova Heart are at Yugong Yishan tonight (May 16).
- The 2013 Beijing CD Blues Festival continues on Friday and Saturday (May 17, 18).
- Canada's Ember Swift performs at Temple on Friday (May 17) with DJ Guojian.
- The Randy Abel Stable will front a hoedown at Temple on Saturday night (May 18).
- American dream pop duo Azure Ray are at Yugong Yishan on Tuesday (May 21) as part of their continuing tour of China.
That's not all. There are loads of music shows this weekend. Step out and see some. Look here for inspiration.
