Hit The Streets: UCCA Workshop for Urban Art
The thought of youths with spray cans brings forth thoughts of defacing public property and running from the police but graffiti is much more than that.
The UCCA’s Hit The Streets is an urban arts, hands-on-cans workshop for teens. Led by Beijing based street artist Biskit (who’s the artistic director at Samsung) and Geoff Ballard, an urban art enthusiast (who teaches at ISB), the workshop includes a tour through the 798 art district, its ‘free paint’ walls, a painting session and they’ll also be showing parts of a film on the legendary graffiti artist, Banksy.
Here’s a sneak peak of the film.
Here’s what the Hong Kong media seems to think of Banksy, in case you don’t know you’re way around Cantonese, they’re naming and shaming him as that man, and that woman as his long suffering wife.
