EAT: Wine Dinners, Bubbles at Transit, and a Boozy Barbecue

A couple of excellent wine dinners coming up this week, one of which you'll have to act fast to get in on. Firstly, tonight Opera Bombana is hosting boutique Emilia Romagna winery Umberto Cesari to showcase some of their wines, paired with some of Opera Bombana's signature dishes, such as lobster salad and agnolotti del plin. Better call them now on 5690 7177 to check if they have space.

Don't worry if you don't make it to the wine dinner tonight, you can always call by TRB on Saturday night for their dinner with Californian winery Peter Michael. I think this is a good time to emphasize how good value dinner at TRB is. RMB 680 for dinner may seem like a lot, but considering the quality of food, standard of service, and level of wines you'll be trying, it starts to look a lot more reasonable. Basically, treat yo' self.

On the sparkling side of things, Transit are celebrating their fourth anniversary with "Bubbly Month." Get a free glass of champagne on arrival all through December when you dine at Transit.

Beer drinkers won't want to miss the Fall's End Beer-n-BBQ Fest at Eudora Station this weekend. They have teamed up with Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale to put together a weekend-long barbecue festival cold weather be damned. Shell out RMB 355 and you can get eight glasses of beer along with free flow barbecue and Kentucky brunch.

Soak up all that booze with a pizza from Pizza+'s newest location in Wangjing. They are offering 50 percent off all round pizzas and pizza by the slice until December 3.

Speaking of 50 percent off, Gung Ho! are also offering half price on all food at all three locations and on deliveries made today to celebrate their recent victory in the Pizza Cup.

Coming up:

  • Don't miss your chance to become a sushi samurai at Hatsune's sushi making class, coming up on Wednesday, December 10. You'll learn about the basics of sushi, make three types of rolls, as well as taking home your own sushi making kit. These events are small scale and very popular, so be sure to book now. See the event listing for RSVP details.
