2009 World Refugee Day Movie Festival

June 20th is World Refugee Day. On this date, people around the world turn their attention to the millions of refugees who live without material, social, and legal protection. The theme of the 2009 World Refugee Day is "Real People, Real Need." The Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) chose this theme because with the world economic crisis threatening to limit already outstretched aid budgets, there needs to be an emphasis that refugees and others of concern are not forgotten.

From June 20th to June 25th, there will be a series of films shown around Beijing in support of the cause. Locations are spread amongst the Bookworm, Cnex, and Obiwan.
