Lecture Series at Saturday and Sunday's Beijing International School Expo
The Beijing International School Expo on Saturday, January 16 and Sunday, January 17, is not only the perfect place to find the right school for your kids — it also serves as a rich learning environment for parents. After visiting booths set up, which will be attended by various heads of school from campuses in all corners of Beijing, patrons of the education fair can then attend spellbinding on-site lectures featuring some of the capital’s brightest minds.
The first lecture will be put on by Beanstalk International Bilingual School. Beanstalk's campus principals will zero in on the many dynamics at play in international education such as how the International Baccalaureate (I.B.) program and national courses are disturbed at a bilingual school, what students need to prepare before going to an international school, and more.
Another talk, titled “How to Protect Children From Haze?” will be put on by Villa Lifestyles, a popular company that sells various brands of air purifiers and other household appliances. Air quality engineer Karl Brown will host the lecture and touch on numerous facets of the issue like breathing issues for children in China, efficient air purification technologies, and an introduction of products and solutions.
Last, but certainly not least, is a highly unique talk given by DDC Talented Youth Program founder and CEO Dongcai Liu. Dubbed “High Achiever, Gifted Learner and Critical Thinker - How to Treat Students with Different Abilities in America?” the lecture will emphasize the connection between arts, linguistics, society, history and science needed to develop student’s imagination and expression ability. Liu will also discuss how a balance between those disciplines helps students hone students their creative thinking and problem solving abilities.
