Indonesian Food Week is Back Due to Popular Demand at Feast, Sep 19-23

This September, Feast brings its Indonesian Food Week back due to popular demand and while the menu may not have changed too much from its first rendition earlier this year, there are some new dishes that have been added to the mix.

We particularly enjoyed the gado gado, a vegetarian salad consisting of tofu, long beans, egg, and bean sprouts served with a rich peanut sauce. Simply stir the peanut sauce through, and you're in for a sweet and nutty treat. The beef rendang, perhaps one of the Indonesia's best known dishes internationally, was just as great as the last time we visited, with the smooth paste of tumeric, garlic, nuts, shallots, ginger, chilies, and coconut milk absorbing into the incredibly tender meat during its two hours cooking time.

Indonesian Food Week runs September 19-23, with menus available for lunch (RMB 128 plus 15 percent service charge), for two courses (RMB 158 plus 15 percent), and for three courses, all including a free-flow buffet of starters and desserts including lumpiah, bakwan sayur (vegetable fritters), sago pudding and other Indonesian favorites. For dinner, try a range of different dishes with a comprehensive four-course menu for RMB 178 (plus 15 percent).

We suggest you don't skip dessert (pictured at top), because they're incredible. The sago pudding with fresh mango was particularly good, and its naturally sweetened, ripe mangoes will make you feel you're lying on a beach in Indonesia, even if it's just for a split second.
