Nuvem has a lot of things going for it, a great location on the shores of Houhai, friendly service, stylish decor and a menu full of tasty Portuguese favorites - it's just a shame that you have to pay so much for it. Wine started from 45 kuai a glass, and a glass of nondescript Chilean Sauv Blanc set me back a cool RMB 60. Mains too all seemed to start from about 120 kuai and up, which I guess considering, really isn't that outrageous. The thing is that Beijing does have some very decent, reasonably priced options (one of my favorites is Le Petit Gourmand) and as long as places like this exist, I'm unlikely to go to Nuvem that often. Still, if you're willing to pay a little more for ambiance - it's a nice dining experience.
