When I need a pick-me-up meal or want a place to restore my faith in Beijing's dining establishments, this is where I go!
The food is top-notch reliable as it should be. we're talking tex-mex here, not 'gourmet' burritos if there is such a thing, and Peter delivers. The ambassador taco al carbon with beef has been a mainstay in my beijing eating-out-diet and is probably the meal I have ordered the most in the past 3 years... not that the other dishes are bad, it's just that good. Another great option is the 9 layer dip burrito.
The burgers are solid and deliver what a burger should.. big beef patties on unsweetened bread with fixings.
The deserts are also out of this world (here's looking at you carrot cake) with extra special recommendation for the caramel-pecan cheesecake. Granted two past visits found them sold out but you gotta try this one!
Peter also boasts an impressive wine selection that is extremely well priced. The house Malbec is a decent option at 90+ RMB while the Sangre de Toro will set you back 150 (a meager 50rmb higher than supermarket price).
Oh.. and a special mention goes out to the generous big glasses of water...
