As a big fan of Le Cafe Igosso, I decided to try the new Igosso for Valentine's Day. However, I was a little dissapointed. Whereas Le Cafe Igosso is cozy and intimate, the new Igosso is big, open and cold, which is disadvantageous to both boisterous groups who want a good time and to couples who want ambiance. The food, while delicious, had some minor flaws. There was too much salt in two of the dishes, including the ravioli and chicken cacciotora. I'd still say it was on the delicious side, but you could tell it was not right. The service was good, and for this I'll give them credit. Our waters were filled the moment they were empty, and a little accident with a steak knife involving blood (one of my most memorable dining moments) was magnanimously handled by the wait staff who very kindly fetched a bandaid. Based on price, service and food, this restaurant is decent by all means, but it doesn't compare to the the original. Also, the wine list was definitely lacking affordable/decent wines. Bottom line is that I will be sticking to the original Cafe Igosso for my Italian food date nights.
