Walking around Solana it would be hard to miss Veg-On as there are plenty of signs, making it less 'hidden' than when the previous reviewer visited. At first we went into the actual restaurant/cafe but were shown the buffet by the waitstaff. (It's around the corner from the actual restaurant.) Note that there is no English menu in the restaurant but the menu does have large pictures, and if you do read Chinese, a lot of info on each dish.
The buffet is only RMB39 so I had my doubts but it's actually very good, there's a big choice of hot dishes (all Chinese), little bread and cake-like items and you can also have hotpot at your table (albeit very small!). Desserts are only fresh fruit. The drinks were a bit disappointing, only various teas or water with fruit in it, but there are a lot of flavours to choose from. You can eat and drink as much as you like.
The decor was nothing special in either area. Service was prompt around the buffet but a bit slow in the actual restaurant.
If you're looking for somewhere to fill up on standard Chinese dishes of reasonable quality at a great price, I'd definitely recommend the buffet here.
