Review of Kempi Deli
My wife had been bugging me to go there since a friend told her they had real European style cakes. Nothing could be further from the truth.
I got a slice labeled "Fruit Cheese Cake." It had various berries on the top so I thought, ok must be good. Turns out it wasn't cheese cake at all. The insides were some kind of white cake with a frosting that must have been made from lard. Not only wasn't it what I ordered, but the cake was dry and heavy like a rock.
My wife got a chocolate cake and it had the similar problems. Very dry on the inside and the icing was was way too heavy.
In short the cakes at Kempi Deli do taste like European cakes, if you go to a very, very, very bad bakery in Europe.

Re: Terrible Cakes
I had a chance to go back there a few weeks ago and it seemed better than last time.
I had a chocolate cake that was decent, although a bit heavy on the butter frosting.
The prices are still pretty outrageous for the size of slice, but I wasn't paying.
