The Paulaner Pork Knuckle is dry and the bread dumplings poor.
Schindlers has great crispy skin - but too much bone and fat and the meat is not soft enough. Oh and only come with mash potatoes in place of the bread dumplings.
This place - while the skin is nit always crispy (hardly ever) they make roast a good knuckle. The sauerkraut and bread dumplings are great too. They even leave the bone in and don't take it out (thankyou very much Paulaner) when you da bao so your best friend can enjoy it as well.
They have a pork knuckle deal on Thursday nights - so I try and go on Thursday day - when they have knuckles and they are fresh. Sometimes on a Friday the knuckles have been a bit dry and flat - we suspect they were left overs from the previous Thursday night pork knuckle festivities.
Also compared to Paulaners - there is no sneaky 15% service charge hidden down the bottom in fine print.
